How it works

One request. The right doctor.

Seeing a specialist usually means phone trees, referral runaround, and weeks of waiting. Our concierge service removes all of that — and it's free.

The three steps

No phone trees. No referral. No guessing which specialist to call.

01

Tell us what's going on

Fill out a quick request — it takes about a minute. Your name, how to reach you, and what's hurting. That's it. No phone trees, no referral needed, no guessing which specialist you're supposed to call.

02

Get matched by Scott

Scott Sheldon spent nine seasons in professional baseball, so he knows what it's like to need care now. He personally reviews every request, matches you with the right specialist — orthopedics, spine, pain management, physical therapy, concussion, hand, foot, or ear, nose and throat — and books the appointment for you.

03

Get back to it

You see a board-certified physician at Houston Physicians' Hospital, a local, physician-owned hospital in Webster. From there, your care is between you and your doctor — surgery if you need it, therapy if you don't, and a plan to get you back to your season, your job, or your morning walk.

Your concierge

A former pro who's been on your side of the injury.

Scott Sheldon played nine professional seasons, including time with the Texas Rangers — and like anyone who's played through a season, he's been the person waiting on an appointment while something hurts. That's the problem this service exists to fix.

Think of Scott the way you'd think of a concierge at a good hotel: tell him what you need, and he handles the arrangements. He knows every specialist in the program, which one fits your problem, and how to get you on their schedule.

“Nobody should need insider connections to see the right doctor. Now you have one.”

Common questions

Answers before you ask.

Is it really free?

Yes. The concierge service is a free community program from Houston Physicians' Hospital. You pay for your medical care the same way you would if you'd booked the appointment yourself — the matching and scheduling cost nothing.

Do I need a referral from my primary care doctor?

No. That's the point — you come straight to us, and we take it from there.

Do you take my insurance?

The physicians in the program accept most major insurance plans. When Scott matches you, he confirms the specialist works with your coverage before anything is booked.

What if I don't know what kind of doctor I need?

Pick “Not sure — help me choose” on the form. Figuring out the right specialist is Scott's job, not yours.

Who can use this service?

Anyone in the Bay Area community — student athletes, their parents, active adults, and anyone dealing with joint pain, spine conditions, foot problems, or ear, nose and throat issues. You don't need to be an athlete.

How fast will I be seen?

It depends on the specialist and your schedule, but requests are typically appointed faster than calling the office yourself.

This service is not for emergencies

If you have a head injury with danger signs, severe bleeding, chest pain, or any life-threatening condition, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
